Dear Troopers,

It has been a wonderful journey that ended on the 22nd of June with all of you graduating as CORPORALS. While this may just be a title that is bestowed upon you, it represents something much more than that. The strive for excellence that you have displayed throughout the challenges that LIVE! Operation has presented to you is something that you can take back and apply in your everyday lives. Just like the drills and the pushups that you may not like in the camp, when you put your heart and soul to it and look at it as a form of challenge and fun, you can create miracles and wonders with the opportunities that you are faced with:)

And at the same time, the friendships formed and the bonds that were strengthened through this process of LIVE! Operation should extend way beyond the 3D2N and bring that spirit of community back to school as well. It was through these times of struggle that are our hardships are halved and our eventual joy multiplied. The spirit of BUKIT PANJANG trail blazed over the streets of OLD CHOA CHU KANG  during the Victory March-lets all bring that spirit into our everyday lives.

So always remember CHOA CHU KANG OEI. BUKIT PANJANG WHOOSAY.

Hello Corporals!

After conquering the challenges that stood in our way and uniting as one cohort, we were finally promoted to the rank of Corporal.  This happened in a GRADUATION PARADE to mark the end of the 52 hour experience. From each platoon, a best trooper will emerge to claim the IDENTITY TAG, which symbolises the virtues of excellence. Each one of us also attained a VICTORY BANDANA which would always remind us that victory is only attained through a strive for excellence, discipline and perseverance! Well done BUKIT PANJANG! You have soared with HEART and SOUL towards EXCELLENCE!

Marching Towards Victory!

The Victory March was our final challenge and in this challenge we had to work together not as individuals or platoons, but as one cohort. It was a tought and gruelling route march across the streets of Choa Chu Kang beneath the farms and the gardens. The pace was also stretching as we strove to always fill up the gaps and keep up with one another.

It was with individual resilience and the whole cohort inspiring and encouraging one another that we pushed ourselves through from start to finish-leaving no one behind. The spirits were high as we finally reached our objective-the base camp and the whole cohort resonated in a rendition of our school song with our flags hoisted way up high!

Well done BUKIT PANJANG ! We have done it!

The Great Raid

it was now time for the GREAT RAID. This was like that board game risk-only it came to life! All each group had to do was to attack islands and battleships in order to win ! And teams won another’s battleships by winning the challenges posted by every PM in the showdown between these battles!

The game was packed with energy, full of adrenaline and gave us an insight on the power of positive encouragement and synergy in teamwork! At the same time, judging from the way some of us fought hard to win the battleships it showed us truly that sometimes we could really do whatever it takes to gain what we wanted if we put our heart and soul into it!

Day 2 Morning was spent finding different locations within the vicinity to find secret messages which needed to be decoded. This time it was our turn to shine-as the leaders would be spearheading the platoon and company’s mission-instead of the platoon mentors.

Some of the activities were challenging such as the Barrel Race and the Casualty Evacuation while others were mentally stretching like exploring what makes us Singaporean and showcasing it. And in the end, it was an extremely enjoyable time that bonded us together in our groups. That camp spirit was definitely coming to life!

The end of the day marked the overcoming of BASIC MILITARY TRAINING. One vital test passed. And many lessons and memories to take away with. It had been a wonderful first day and to top it off, for having conquered BMT, all of us were promoted to the rank of PRIVATE at the PASSING OUT PARADE.

In this parade, we stood together as ONE BP TROOPERS as our PLATOON MENTORS bestowed us with the while seal that had the words : I CONQUERED BMT emblazoned upon it. With reaffirmations, they congratulated each one of us with words of wisdom and challenged us to do better tommorrow-a day of fresh new challenges!

Get Basic Military Training!

The first challenge on our itinerary is the BASIC MILITARY TRAINING. In this event, we were put through our paces going through 3 stages-THE COMBAT FIT CHALLENGE, THE STANDARD OBSTACLE COURSE and THE REGIMENT DRILLS.

Each activity was carefully designed to put us our of our comfort zone and exercise a piece of resilience when the going gets tough. We also learnt the true meaning of excellence as we put in our 100 per cent and gave it our best shot in all we did.

And in the end it was through sheer struggle that we overcame the difficulties that we faced, turned them into challenges that we could surmount and find that true meaning of satisfaction.

BMT. It’s only basic. Lets strive towards higher planes and soar to achieve!

Welcome to LIVE! Operation. Today is the first day of the rest of your lives. Safely lifted to the base camp at 0926 hours, the troopers begin their 52 hour journey of a lifetime. In this camp, troopers will learn, understand and engage in the values of discipline, perseverance and excellence. The road ahead is long tough and stretching. But we believe all of you can do it-just as long as you put in your 100 per cent, strive for never ending improvement and find the positives in all situations. Many have walked this road that stands before you. And today you stand tall with the honour of doing the same and grabbing success into your lives. Have the spirit that has always defined the human will of overcoming the struggles that may come your way and say to the world : YES WE CAN.

On the 20th of May 0800 hours, you will begin a new 52 hour journey of epic proportions, a discovery of wonder and amazement as you embark on a special mission of life. LIVE! OPERATION. Where the rules are rewritten and you get to rewrite you destiny. Be the best that you could be and give all the challenges that you will come to face a run for their money. Because we are always stretching the only limits are in our thinking. And if we focus on the positive, life will give us back more than we give. Trust in you. There’s no better candidate.
